I ask all of you to say a prayer for her and her family. They need our strength and positive energy to get them through these tough times. For me personally...Cukie Jones was my dear friend and mentor. At one point in my life, she also was my drag mother. One thing I will always remember is her love and compassion for others; to inspire others to be involved in the gay community , HIV/AIDS awareness and her love of entertaining. She opened the doors for me when I made my debut and as I rose through the ranks of being an entertainer. I owe her a lot as she helped me become the person I am today. She allowed me to join the cast of BABETTES when she first formed the show and it was an opportunity I will never forget. I learned the scene behind the busines s while sharpening my performance skills. I formed strong relationships with everyone in the cast with her as our producer along the likes of Jennifer Mackey, Phoebe, Jennifer Mackey, Savannah Summers, Junea Roberts, Justina Brown, Maddalyn Ashton. JahJah Rmani, Triniti LaCroix. Jayde Daniels etc. She helped me through the grieving process with the death of my mom...and always made me feel loved and cherished. i know Cukie is in a better place...where there is pure love and no more suffering. She made a difference here on Earth and I wanted her to know that she will be missed dearly. Again..friends, please take a moment of your day and say a prayer for Cukie Jones and her family. have a blessed day!! I love you all.... forever & infinity - TeHani TaNia Aloha Gang.....
Well it has finally hit me, I am home relaxing and I just had my nervous break down and I finally came to realize that I have lost a true dear friend to me. My Cukie Monstur and I have known each other for over 10 years now. Now who am I going to count on when I need a new song or a mix made in a few hours. Who's going to call me in the middle of the day and ask me, "are you busy, you need to hear this song and serve it to the crowd." I am so sad and confused at the moment, but I know I will be fine later. It's just that I feel life is not fair. My Cukie has done so much positive things for our community and has helped so much young ones come out into the entertainment industry. She has done so much fundraising for the GLBT community and for people with HIV. She was always on the go, doing things for people and she always seem to have the time for everyone. My Cukie Monstur always had a smile on her face and loved to make people smile an d laugh. She was always there for me. It was never a dull moment with my Cukie Munstur. She always had something crazy, wild and creative running through that brain of hers. I remember the first time I met my Cukie Monstur, it was back in 1997, she was selling her jewelry and when I saw it, I thought I was in heaven. She had all this jewelry layed out in her house, it was like walking into a candy store. My Cukie Monstur always had a kick of seeing my expression whenever I went to her house to see what she had for me. Everytime I would tell myself I'm not going to spend over $200, I would end up spending over $600, and she knew I would never stay in my budget, and she got a kick out of that. Ever since then we have become really close whenever I needed her for pageants or shows, she was always there for me. There was never a time she said "no" when I needed her for something. Cukie has always been good to me. Words can't express how much I'm going to miss her and how much sh e means to me. Cukie has touch so many people's lives, near and far. I just hope she knows how much we all are truly going to miss her, especially that laugh of hers. To my Cukie Monstur, "I Love You, I Love You, I Love You" and I want to thank you for everything you have ever done for me. All the memories I have of us will always stay in my heart and I will cheerish them for all eternity. Until we meet again my Cukie Monstur, may you enjoy your time in heaven and look out for my son Daven and my two hanai mothers. Send them all my love and let them know I'm always thinking of them. You be good up there and I thank you for everything you taught me. I hope I may have a life that's half as good as how yours was. Take care and God Bless. Love Always, Maddalynn Ashton maddalynnashton@yahoo.com

We will all miss you lady.. Jerrine Update: Lindsey has returned to work! His duties are limited working an 8 hour shift! Tuesday January 16th. I'm sure that most of you have heard the sad news of our Queen Mother Isadora aka Lindey Lau. As soon as word reached Aunty Anita she made plans to fly to Las Vegas to kokua. Here is a summary of our conversations. On Wednesday December 27th, Dora collapsed at work and was rushed to Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegs. Doctors determined she had suffered a stroke. She was given medications to dissove the blood clot and prevent further damage to her system. Visitors to the Intensive Care Unit acknowledge that she could move her arms and legs but could not speak. By Thursday there was much improvement. Dora could respond to visitors speaking to her. Frieda further says that Dora could converse although it was difficult to understand her. On Friday, Dora was moved from intensive care to a hospital room. On Saturday, Dora is no longer confined to bed, she is up and walking. Prognosis for recovery is good. More improvment over the New Year weekend. Dora will be moved to a rehab center for recovery and speech therapy. More recovery time will be needed at home. Lindsey was released and has gone home for recovery, Friday Jan 5th. Isadora continues recovery at home also attends speech therapy. Contact Frieda or Anita for address and home phone. Your messages of encouragement are welcomed. January 14th 2007 Aloha to all in Las Vegs who rushed to the Hospital to offer kokua and pule. We all express our aloha to Isadora for a speedy recovery. A small-town physician who said he performed more than 4,500 sex-change operations, has died, a funeral home owner said Tuesday. He was 82. The cause of Biber's death on Monday was not announced, but he had been hospitalized for complications from pneumonia. Word of Biber's death came from Mary Winter, a friend and owner of the Cormi Funeral Home in Trinidad, a town of 9,300 near the Colorado-New Mexico border. Biber, an Iowa native, moved to Trinidad in 1954 and became the town's only general surgeon. He told The Associated Press in a 2000 interview that he performed his first sex-change operation in 1969. <>He said a social worker he had met asked for the surgery, and he agreed after talking to a New York doctor who had done some sex reassignment operations and after getting sketches from Johns Hopkins University. At one point he was performing 150 transsexual operations a year, Biber said. He stopped doing surgery in 2003 and closed his practice in 2004, at age 81. Hi this is Nichol (Kaipo) from Chicago ... I just wanted to drop a note to everyone, hoping that everyone is doing good in this new year. My mom passed away last Thursday, February 2nd, after a long battle with diabetes, kidney failure, and being in a coma for 2 weeks. She did come out of the coma, and was able to enjoy her for at least a couple of more weeks, until she passed away. If you like, please email me your mailing address, and I would be happy to send you a memorial card. Please see the attached website from The Chicago Tribune http://www.legacy.com/chicagotribune/Obituaries.asp?Page=Lifestory&PersonId=16724159, on the beautiful obit that I wrote up for Mama, and there is also an obit in the Sunday's Honolulu Star Bulletin. God bless everyone, thank you for letting me share this with you all. Take care, love and aloha all ... Joann Ah’ni, a Pacific Islander transgender who was a native of Honolulu, passed away May 23. She was in her mid-50s. Nalani Kolona, a fellow native Hawaiian who befriended Ah’ni for 20 years in Chicago, told Windy City Times that she did not know that Ah’ni even had siblings until she stumbled across her birth certificate while cleaning out her apartment. ( It turns out that Ah’ni has five brothers and seven sisters. ) Kolona plans to have Ah’ni’s death notice publicized in a local newspaper so the family knows of her passing. When asked what she will miss most about Ah’ni, Kolona commented on her strength. “She was my biggest supporter. Every time I wanted to give up trying to prove to the world that I belong here and that I am part of the community, she would say ‘So you’re not going to be successful all the time. Is that really areason to give up?’ She would tell me that it’s easier to give up than to stay in there and sustain the fight.” Kolona added with a chuckle that she will also miss Ah’ni’s cooking and technical proficiency: “I liked that she could program a VCR for me.” At the time of her conversation with Windy City Times, Kolona did not know the exact cause of Ah’ni’s death. “The doctor called, saying that she had gone into cardiac arrest and her brain had stopped functioning. He thought it was more humane for us to not resuscitate her,” Kolona said. However, she added that Ah’ni was HIV-positive and was battling lung cancer. In keeping with Ah’ni’s secretive nature regarding personal details, Kolona stated that she was also not one to discuss her ailments: “I actually didn’t even know she had cancer until a month before she died, when I noticed a dramatic weight loss.” Ah’ni was cremated on June 1. Kolona plans to take her ashes (as well as those of her cat ) to Hawaii and spread them there.“ [ Ah’ni’s ] spirit and soul need to be there,” she said. |

JONESMISS GAY PRIDE HAWAII 2004-2005 AMETHYST GRAND DUCHESS 2004 IMPERIAL COURT OF ALL HAWAII GRAND MARSHAL HAWAII PRIDE 2003-2004 Aloha, Everyone! As Howie called me this morning to inform me of Miha's condition, I called Kuakini hospital. Through my tears and sadness and telling her that I loved her (even knowing that she could only mumble what seemingly were incomprehensible) and enjoyed seeing her and spending time with her during her last SF visit, it is my belief in my heart of hearts that her mumbling and giggles meant that she understood that it was me on the phone and that she acknowledged that I called. I asked her to visit me when she could and truly believe that her spirit will come to me when she is ready and able. I then called my sister Shalei to let her know and am telling you of my experience should any of you decide you wish to either visit her or call her at the hospital. The nurse who assisted me with my call stayed with Miha until I was ready to hang up--she's being well taken care of by the nurses at Kuakini. If you're in Hawaii, please try to visit her today as the doctor, I believe, mentioned that she may go into a coma today and possibly make pau! Sending out a message to the universe--Miha, we all love you and wish you Godspeed. Me ke aloha pumehana a pau . . . Mel Aloha Titas,
Honolulu" OWNWell things down here is pretty much the same .. The last I herd about Miha was from Cukie's e-mail.. but wer'e praying for both her and Christina. Ash went to see her this past week and they moved her to an private room.. she's conscious and responding ok... but she'll pull out of it... love you Christine...This weekend is Le Faminique Pageant.. and also my B-Day....5/1----- "RITAS" no but ill be good... heehehhheee...keep abreast with the Fusion site here on myspace and check out for future events during the upcoming months..ups to Tirana Anderson for the great web-site mistress... yeah yeah yaeh.... heheheheheh..well hin, if more comes up I'll be in touch.... love you all THE URASIAN BEAUTY Ms Jerrine Jeffries As i promised you all here's the update on Empress Miha Reyes health, as of today, Wednesday, April 27th. Sadly i was there today with her for over three hours and she doesn't seem to be getting better at all. Her mother and brother arrived from puerto rico and for the first hour or so, she didn't recognize them. She goes in and out sort of a coma time...she sometimes reacts and sometimes she doesn't react at all. Honestly to be there is a bit impressive. We all know how festive she can be and truly you can't visualize it at all. Her brother was trying to show her some family pics and she didn't even respond at all and it was a sad moment. Since i am from puerto rico and speak fluently in spanish, they felt extremely comfortable and they were at ease when i left, it was a good feeling at that moment. She has to be talked extremely loud in order to see if she would respond or react. She doesn't realize at moments that she's in the hospital. Even though i made her smile a couple of times, even laugh, but she wasn't that conscience all the time. She has to be fed etc... It's really hard and sad to see her in the present condition that she is in. The hopes for her to recuperate and or recover are extremely low, this by the doctors, BUT I DO BELIEVE IN A HIGHER DOCTOR THAT CAN MAKE MIRACLES HAPPEN! IF YOU'RE READING THIS, THEN YOU CAN JOIN "A CIRCLE OF LOVE" SUPPORT AND HELP WITH YOUR MIND, HEART AND SPIRIT AND ELEVATE A PRAYER, A WISH, A GOOD VIBE AND SEND IT HER WAY. I BELIEVE. Aloha from the heart, always CUKIE JONES |

All my prayers and blessing for
Manang Christy..may she rest in peace...The first time I met her I was
just a young T just out of school..I was hanging with Miss Kayleen
Davenport on Hotel Street(you know the "t", I don't have to tell
you)...and
we bumped into Manang Christy and Passion(Pauline), they were
inseparable...She looked at me and said..Kumusta girl, your going to be
lovely when
the hormones kick in..lol!...and from that day on I tried my best to
become a Diva like her ..she always had a nice thing to say, even when
she was ritazzz..as we all were..oopss!!..She always looked
impeccable..designer labels backkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!...rest in peace
sis..we will always remember you....Tavena
Ladies & Gentlemen....Manang Christy.... The first time I ever met Manang was in the late 70's
ish @ Queen Surf. Those days she would hang w/Farrah
Pauline... I was a young queen back then still
attending McKinley High School. During the summers we would go to
Queen Surf to swim @ the Natatorium, play volleyball (well I would
watch), tip around Waikiki, the typical young queen stuff. But my
lasting impression was the time Maxine Coleman, Michelle Tomas,
Mishalei Garret & myself was on the bus going home. Manang
& Pauline was also on the bus. The bus had stopped &
Mousie walked in.. For those of you who
don't know about Mousy he was Salyss Romes EX & one vicious town
Kane.. Well he came into the bus & made an A line for the
two of them saying they owed him Kala (puni)... The next thing I
remember
Michelle, Maxine & I were off that bus.. It was a "Girls
HELE!!!"
Now that I think back, it was really rather funny, the things that
happen
when you are young seems to feel like
it happened yesterday. But Manang was quite the fishy
number during the day with her all one length jet black hair..
body for DAZE!!!(We all know her T
about that one). At nite it was a different story.. she did
nothing to be fishy.. Honey she went all out to stand out &
on many of nites she certainly did... LABELS, LABELS,
LABELS!!!!
On her last days I would run into her while
I would be out getting lunch @ Royal Kitchen.. She would be there
carrying on with the girls on the corners. That's why it was such
a shock to find out about her passing... But now she is at a much
better place & I also wish to send my condolences to her Family
& Friends in this time of much sorrow. May God Bless her
& may Manang Christy rest in peace for one day we will all be
united again in the
QUEEN WORLD!!!
Blessed Be...Lacy Lee Chanel
My memories of Manang Christy,
I first seen her getting on the bus with Pauline Nabalis by Mayor Wrights, and I told Sabie and Tafili, whos that one, she was a young Filipino fish looking queen and at that time it was day so she was dress in a white zip front jumpsuit, her and Pauline was best of friends. When I finally did the Hotel Street scene, I finally got to met her personally and we would be checking out each other, rita as can be on Quaaludes, percadon, valium and alcohol, as long it was a downer we was taking it. Back in those days we all would look in the Vogue & Cosmo, and paint and dress like the models in them. Manong and a few of others would all come out on a Friday night dress to the T's, I mean the T's, everything from head to the toe was a Label. Even if we where just hustlers in those days we dressed to impress. Sometimes you would wonder where in the world did they get the kala, isn't that our secrets girls....lol. Yes my tita was a rita queen, one of the best padded queen, and yes a good hearted queen. I'll miss her for we had some good times together back in the 70's. They introduced me to high fashion wear,Manang Christy, Jana & Dolly. There all gone now but I always remember double dating and getting rita. The memories is all I have now but it was fun while it lasted, I will charish the moments that we had.........Kalei I remember back in the later 70's when the hay days were , and Manang Christy was one of the first queens i met out on the "stroll", I remembered her and linda was together and i had thought they both were "fish" i found out later ... fishy huh... but thought out the years and there are many, Christy was always a sweet "Pinay Diva" .. She would always be out on the "stroll" decked in her deisgners outfits always looking flawless as ever...She was always laughing oooooooooooo and lets not mention boys... she had her fair share of them... there are so many memories i have of this "Diva". But for now she is resting in a better place where she will be always remembered by family and friends. My blessing go out to her family members and friends... "We will all miss you Manang Christy" shhhhhhhhhht, shhhhhhhhhhht. Ms Jerrine Jeffries Tina from Las Vegas called me early this morning at 5am Guam time as i was in a deep sleep not knowing who would ring me this early. She had mentioned that Manang Cristy passed away from Pnemonia. I then tried to recall her and yes it was back in the early eighties and nineties where i had met her with the girls while i did my rendevous at the infamous "Hotel Street" saga. Everygirl should make there debut down that memory lane. I also remembered speaking in the tagalog dialect which surprised me. Drugs has taken her and weakened her inmuned system. How sad. May she rest in Peace and May the Dear Lord God forgive and Bless her, Crimsona Amistad What a sad time for me right now... one of my very dear sisters passed on "Manong" Christy and I feel so bad. Most of you probably don't even know who she was... but she was at one time one of Hawaii's Filipino DIVAS... talk about designer this bitch was designer from head to toe... from her Charles Jourdan shoes to everything including her LV bag... what a class act. She lived a fabulous life at one point of her life... then unfortunately drugs got the best of her... her life spiraled downhill in no time flat. Please help me lift her up in spirit...rest my dear sister...Stacia Remembering MANONG
Christy takes me back to when I was a very young teen age trannie
admiring this diva from
afar....she was always very sweet to me and it saddens me to hear the news of her passing....may you forever be in the arms of God Manong....you will be missed..... Regina I have a special
memory of "Manong " Christy , though it has been over
25 years since I last seen her. It is still like ....Yesterday. I came
put during the early 70's , while I was 21 years old. During that
time , alot of the mahuwahine were on the streets and on wellfare. I
was on both.............While worked the mahu stroll , I would
encounter and talk story with Christy. She was just 13 years
old (lived in back of Glades area) and look up to us girls who
were also part filipina. She was so young and full of life.Later
in the 80's I danced thru out Oahu as a stripper dancing a different
nite each nite doing the korean bar circult. Christy was working as a
bar hostess at the White Rose in Kailua. She was still full of
life and looking fine. That is the last time I seen he when I danced in
the bar she worked..........Christy you will always be in
my heart. May you rest in Peace. AuntyAnita
I'm sad to hear about Christy--she was lovely and always dressed to the nines! Manang Christy could always be counted on to tell you just what you didn't want to hear--she spoke her mind and read/clocked you with the truth. She was a diva during her time and I wish her GODSPEED on her journey with Akua. E malama pono . . . Mel |

Recently spoke to Harley of Honolulu regarding our sister . Christina Marsh ( Christy Love) is slightly better. She has been transfered from Queens Hospital to Kaisers. Lets continue to prayer for Christina and send positive healing mana . Island Godddess Ohana loves you. Christina
Marsh ( Christy Love) is doing much
better...she has been moved from CCU to a private room....making progress as of 4/20/05......
Just an up date......Important announcement!!..... Christina's Nurses has ask that anyone coming to visit "Christy Love"....AKA: Christina Marsh.... is NOT allowed between 7 and 8:30 AM & PM. That is when they are doing shift change. Also when ever a nurse is in the room. We as her extened family are only allowed in 2 at a time....everyone else must wait in the waiting room. "SHOWING RESPECT"... Aloha Gurls, I just visited Christina today. Was getting into the elevator and there was Christina's Grandma, Mom, and her Auntie Cathy......So we got talking, Auntie Cathy and I both agree that there is a lot of unanswered questions. Maybe someone might know someone that could help direct us/ her family in what to do. BUT IT IS FOR SURE THAT CHRISTINA DID NOT JUMP OR She is making great
progress. She is almost off the respirators, ”more then 50% of
breathing on her own", the nurse told us today, once she starts
breathing on her own she will be up grated and taken out of The nurse also said that
they had taken her off the sedatives yesterday which
made her very irritable and grouchy. She had not sleep
Saturday at all, was tossing and turning. They gave her a
lite sedative which made her calm down. While we were in the room she
would not
get up. Nurse also informed us that she is making progress
with motor skills....on command. (Another good thing.) Motion with
legs is another good sign. (Our Prayers are being
heard). Since the first time I seen Christina on
that Sunday March 20th the day of till today Sunday April 10th,
she has made leaps and
bounds.......but every step of the way was very small....When i
first saw Christina she was not
recognizable....( you could not even imagine) Today all
the swelling has gone down except in her leg,. Her right
leg is still very swollen and has not completely drained
yet. Also another thing….her spine was not affected nor was her
neck. The last time I saw her she was moving her arms and using
them to move her upper body and reposition herself to make comfortable. They have.....done
surgery on the side of her face where she hit on the third floor
on the way down. She has had her jaw wired shut; they
have stuck rods in her tights (both sides) to help the bones
to mend. They will start on hip surgery soon….I think when she get out

To Whom it may concern
(which is all sisters from Hawaii),
I don't know if any of you
heard thru gossip line, but one of our sisters is not
doing to well right now and I think a
little support from all of us would help immensely. The sister I'm speaking of
URSULA for awhile now she has been having a string of bad luck
healthwise. She has
been in and out of the hospital a couple of times. I don't know how to say it without it sounding bad but she has been hit with a double whamie. I can't think of anyone who has ever had a bad thing to say about Ursula I think she has always been a friend to all of us one way or another. She's never intruded in anyone's life, but has always been a supporter of whatever made you happy. She was one of the first Paperdolls and decided to pursue other things in her life that were more secure. What I'm asking of all of
you
Hawaii girls (or anyone else whose concern) is to give her
a little support by expressing
your thoughts with a phone call to ease her pain. She was recently release from Queen's Hospital and is recovering at home at the present time.
Love and Aloha,
Contact Raquel for details & Island Goddess Directory for home address & phone.
