Christina Marsh

She is making great progress. She is almost off the respirators, ”more then 50% of breathing on her own", the nurse told us today,  once she starts breathing on her own she will be up grated and taken out of CCU.  She will most likely be transferred to another ward within a week the way things are looking. (And that’s a good thing.) It also means that she is HEALING. 

The nurse also said that they had taken her off the sedatives yesterday which made her very irritable and grouchy. She had not sleep Saturday at all, was tossing and turning. They gave her a lite sedative which made her calm down. While we were in the room she would not get up.  Nurse also informed us that she is making progress with motor skills....on command. (Another good thing.) Motion with legs is another good sign. (Our Prayers are being heard). Since the first time I seen Christina on that Sunday March 20th the day of till today Sunday April 10th, she has made leaps and bounds.......but every step of the way was very small....When i first saw Christina she was not recognizable....( you could not even imagine) Today all the swelling has gone down except in her leg,. Her right leg is still very swollen and has not completely drained yet.  Also another thing….her spine was not affected nor was her neck. The last time I saw her she was moving her arms and using them to move her upper body and reposition herself to make comfortable. 

They have.....done surgery on the side of her face where she hit on the third floor on the way down.  She has had her jaw wired shut; they have stuck rods in her tights (both sides) to help the bones to mend. They will start on hip surgery soon….I think when she get out of the CCU    they   had made an incision in her throat to help with her breathing... (Which she is trying to take out).
